Bachelor in Biomedical Sciences Fribourg
The Master of Science in Biomedical Science was developed as part of a joint Batchelor's and Master's Program betwen the Universities of Bern and Fribourg. Accordingly, many if not most of the master's students in Bern come from Fribourg after having completed their Barchelor's degree there.
A short history of the joint BEFRI masters's/batchelor's program
- 2004: Concept of a new interdisciplinary course linking natural and medical sciences
- 2004 - 2006: Establishment of a collaboration between the Universities of Bern and Fribourg => ‘BeFri Convention’ (2006)
- Autumn 2006: Start of Bachelor's program in Fribourg
- 2006 - 2009: Continuous planning of Bachelor's and Master's program by a joint Bern-Fribourg committee
- September 2009: Start of Master's program in Bern - Founding Study Director Prof. em. Stephan Rohr
